Hello Simley Football Parents/Players and Fans!

Each week Randy Shaver picks his top three prep football plays of the week and voters decide which is their favorite. This year,  the winning school receives $1,000 from TruStone Financial to go into their general athletic fund. The three plays are revealed each Monday during sports on KARE 11 News at 6 p.m. Fans will have until Friday at 2 p.m. to vote.

Lifetouch will be at Simley on Monday, August 31^st  to take Football team and individual pictures – for the school year book.

Order forms are available from coaches or parents can order online at https://order.lifetouchsports.com/index.cfm?event=OrderHome&contractID=45178

Online orders must be placed by Tuesday, September 1st.  If you miss out on ordering now, pictures can also be ordered after the proofs come back to the school.

The season is quickly approaching and below is the key information you need to know for events in August:

• 8/11 & 8/12 @6pm – Spartan Card Blitz (all players grades 9-12) – players meet behind middle school near door W  (We need 3 adult/parent drivers  – please email matthewsek@comcast.net)
• 8/13 @6-8pm – Annual Fiesta Night for Parents & Coaches at Mississippi Pub
• 8/15 @11am-12pm – First Annual “Mom’s Day” on the field – wear tennis shoes and meet near team bench. This is your chance to learn some of the key football skills…how to block, run with and catch the football, how to put on equipment properly…just to name a few!
• 8/15 @4-8pm –Mississippi Pub Tacos & Beer Fundraiser Event (*NEW* more info to come in separate email)

**** 2015 SDSU Camp Information ****

Who: All 10th – 12th Graders are welcome and encouraged to attend!

When: Wednesday June 17 – Friday June 19th, 2015

Where: South Dakota State University

Cost: $165 and registration forms/waiver due to Coach King by Friday 5.15.15. This includes transportation and meals (does not include player spending money)

COACH OF THE YEAR: Rex King, Simley (Inver Grove Heights) King took over his alma mater in 2011 at age 29, and has steadily shown himself to be one of the best coaching minds in the state. He took his group to the 5A championship game, which certainly was big for a wrestling school with limited football tradition.
